Description

Nylog Blue (Twin Pack) is a non-hardening, non-drying gasket & thread sealant formulated from synthetic refrigeration oil. Made for licensed refrigeration techs, apprentices and service contractors, it seals flares and threads, lubes O-rings, and helps you button up jobs faster with fewer call-backs — fair dinkum.

Key Features & Trade Benefits

  • Viscoelastic, non-hardening formula — forms a hydraulic seal that won’t crack or set, so fittings can be serviced later with no dramas.
  • POE/PAG/PVE/mineral oil compatible — safe across modern and legacy systems, ideal for mixed fleets and service work.
  • Flare & thread sealing — coats flare faces and threads to prevent micro-leaks on high-pressure HFC/HFO systems.
  • O-ring & gasket lubricant — reduces torque required, helps prevent tearing or over-compression on service valves and unions.
  • Assembly lube — perfect for shaft seals, Schrader cores and ball valves during rebuilds.
  • Twin Pack countertop clamshell — reusable container keeps tubes away from meters, tool bags and truck bins — too easy.
  • Tested & recognised — used by OEMs; ASHRAE Std 97 seal-tube compatibility with R32/R410A blends.

Why This Product Matters

On a hot roof in January, you tighten a flare, pull down, soap it, and still get bubbles. A quick re-make with Nylog on the flare face and thread usually sorts it — and saves a return visit. That’s why pros keep Nylog in the bag for high-pressure R32/R410A minisplits and medium-temp cases alike. If you’re building out your refrigeration kit, browse our Refrigeration collection for complementary tools and cleaners.

Pro Tip

Coat the flare face first, not just the threads. Most of the Nylog squeezes out on torque, but the thin film that remains at the sealing surface is what stops those tiny leaks. For pipe threads, use Nylog over and under PTFE tape for a belt-and-braces seal on awkward tolerances.

Compatibility & System Info

  • Refrigerants: R32, R410A, R134a, R404A (and other common HVAC/R gases).
  • Compressor Oils: POE, PAG, PVE, mineral, alkylbenzene.
  • Certs: NSF H2 registration (No. 119845); ASHRAE Std 97 seal-tube compatibility testing with R32 & R410A.
  • Not for: oxygen systems.

Local Jobsite Note (AU)

In humid Darwin and on scorching Perth rooftops, Nylog’s non-drying film helps keep flare faces sealed despite thermal cycling and vibration.

FAQs

Is Nylog Blue safe for R32 split systems?
Yes — it’s been seal-tube tested to ASHRAE Std 97 with R32 and R410A. For more context on R32-ready tools, see our R32 Compatibility Guide.

Does Nylog replace PTFE tape on tapered threads?
Use Nylog with PTFE tape — over and under — to create a robust high-pressure seal.

Can I use it on oxygen systems?
No. Do not use Nylog on oxygen service.

Will it gum up the system?
No. It’s fully miscible with common compressor oils and won’t create restrictions when used as directed.
